Op de terugweg komen we langs Bayeux en volgens het boekje zijn de twee dingen die de moeite van het bezichtigen waard zijn de Kathedraal èn de tapisserie van Reine Mathilde van Bayeux, een 70 meter lang geborduurd linnen wandkleed dat het verhaal vertelt over Willem de Veroveraar in 1066.
De kathedraal is enorm. Rick is deze week al voor de derde keer in een kerk! Maar de tapisserie laat hij aan zich voorbij gaan.
On our way back we visited Bayeux. That town did not suffer too much at the invasion. According to the booklet here are two things of importance to see. That’s the cathedral and the tapisserie of Bayeux, a tapistry of a 70 meter length with shows the battle of William the Conquerer in 1066.
The cathedral is huge. For Rick it is his third time this week he’s in a church! But he’s not interested in the tapistry.
