De Badlands.
Een paar jaar terug hoog boven New Foundland op onze terugreis vanuit Canada was ik bijzonder onder de indruk van het spectaculaire ruwe landschap beneden ons. Ook afgelopen september op weg naar en terug vanuit Minneapolis was het Groenland. Ik hou wel niet van vliegen, tenminste het opstijgen en dalen, maar dit maakt toch veel goed. Vanavond doen we het nog eens dunnetjes over als Earthflight op de tv is. Wim gaat wel naar zijn Mannenkoor Valerius maar de recorder staat al ingesteld. Zonet zag ik dat Curtis een link naar Ben gestuurd heeft met een Earthflight over Amerika, van oost naar west. Je ziet natuurlijk het Vrijheidsbeeld, maar ook een eland in een rivier en mensen in bootjes. Opnieuw raakte me het woeste landschap en ik meen er ook de Badlands in te zien. Alleen het eind vond ik minder, typisch Amerikaans.

This evening we have the second part of Earthflight on tv. Wim is going to his men’s choir Valerius but even now he has his recorder standby. A few hours ago I saw the link Curtis send to brother in law Ben. It’s an Earthflight too all over America, from the Statue of Liberty in the east to the west. A moose was to be seen in a river and people in boats. And again I enjoyed the nature of this so gorgeous big country and for a moment I was quite sure to see the Badlands. Just the end was not my favourite… with all that firework, typical American perhaps?
