Natuurlijk staan we hier al gauw…..
“Wa’s dàt noe weer… gien water?” We zijn net aangekomen in Keswick opnieuw op een campsite van de Camping- and Caravanning club, die zich ook wel noemt: The friendly campsite. En dat mag gezegd worden. We zijn zowel in Moffat als hier op handen gedragen. Op de fiets wordt je naar je plek gebracht en vanmorgen hielpen ze ons met een trekkertje van de plaats af. Eigenlijk was er hier geen plek meer… fully booked, maar omdat wij een betrekkelijk kleine caravan hebben mochten we kijken of we op het erg natte gras wilden staan. Wij wel, want we hebben goede herinneringen aan Keswick, de camping aan het meer en lopend kun je de stad in.
Maar we horen nu wel de pomp z’n best doen maar nee geen drup komt er uit. Wim ontdekt dat er een slangetje vlakbij de pomp doormidden is. Het is niet te repareren al blijft Wim puzzelen. En wanneer hij op z’n jongste broer lijkt, puzzelt hij vannacht nog door.. Nu staat de gieter gevuld klaar… ach we redden ons al gauw.
De laatste keer hier stonden we op deze camping helemaal aan het meer, het Derwentwater. Schitterend!
‘[i]What’s that… no water’? We just arrived on the campsite in Keswick, Lake District. Good service here just as in Moffat, boths campsites from the Camping- and Caravanning club, the friendly club. A man on his bike and cowboy hat on brings us to our spot. At First they said it was fully booked here but while we own just a small caravan we could have a look if we should find a place on the very wet grass. We found a rather good place. So we’re happy we can stay here for a few days because we like this town and the aerea. From here we can go into Keswick just by walking.
But now we hear the pump is doing his work, but… no water. Wim find out that the tube close to the pump is broken. It cannot be repared yet, however Wim is puzzling. And when he’s just like his youngest brother he will be puzzling tonight too. But for now the watering can is standing in the kitchen… we can manage with such things.
Last time we were here, I think 5 or more years ago, we had a place close to the lake with superb views over the Derwentwater. And this afternoon we stood there to enjoy it again.[/i]
