Al heel wat keren heb ik kinderen op hun eerste schooldag opgevangen. Ook onze eigen kinderen heb ik naar school gebracht op hun eerste dag op school. Daar waren in die tijd nog weinig vaders bij. Ik kan me niet herinneren dat ik zo’n eerste dag een foto heb zien maken. Nu zal dat waarschijnlijk wel gebeuren, maar in de 70er en 80er jaren heb ik het niet gezien. Iedereen vond het wat spannend, zowel de moeders als de kinderen. Gespannen gezichtjes, een enkel traantje.
Deze foto is waarschijnlijk in 1928 genomen toen Bram voor het eerst met Jan en Mies mee naar de Julianaschool in de Wildenborch liep. Niks wegbrengen, gewoon met je broer en zusje mee. Bram lijkt er zin in te hebben want hij loopt voorop en trekt Mies gewoon mee. Jan lekker nonchalant met de handen in de zak. Alle drie op hun klompen. Achter Mies zie je nog net de hond die een eindje meeloopt.
Maar opa nam bij deze jongste spruit wèl even een foto! Tante Jo wist dit te vertellen. Ze ziet niet veel meer, maar kent al die foto’s gewoon uit haar hoofd.
Several times I received new children on their first day at school. And I ‘ve brought our own boys into school on their first day. I can’t remember that mothers took a picture of such a special moment.
These days it will happen, but in the 70ties and 80ties I haven’t seen it. Everybody was a bit emotional, children and mothers as well. Sometimes a tear was to be seen.
This picture is probably taken in 1928 when Bram went to the Julianaschool in the Wildenborch with Jan and Mies on his first schoolday. No bringing but just walking all the way with your brother and sister. He is happy to go with them yoy see. And all of them are wearing the wooden shoes as usual at that time. The dog is to be seen behind Mies and is walking with them for a moment.
But opa took this picture at this happening. Tante Jo knew it all and told us about it. She doesn’t see much any more, but she ’s got all the old pictures in her mind.
