Gewoon omdat ie zo leuk is.

Opa loved it to see more from the world and especially he would like to go at sea. When he had to join the army, he was hoping to get a place at the Royal Navy. But what a pity…. he had to go to the footsloggers, so he said. But now I discover a picture of a group of soldiers with their bicycles. And opa is one of them. Tante Jo is not able to see much any more, but she said :”Oh he’s standing near that white pole… Just on the right of it". It has to be before 1900, because he ’s born in 1878.
And all those adventures he was thinking of…..? He married his Dientje, became a farmer and… got 10 children.
However…. In 1932 he went to Herman in Amerika by boat. He enjoyed the voyage at sea very much as you could read in his diary he wrote in 1932 during his trip to and his stay in America. I’ve got a lot of pictures which opa made during that trip. Thanks to tante Jantje.
